Mac OS X / the future is here and it's scary

well, this weekend, i finally got around to installing the beast on my humble g3/266 and it's quite scary. while it's obviously more powerful than the current down-trodden Mac OS, it's a whole new world and it's much scarier than before. it's going to take quite a lot of adjustment and unlearning of old habits. fortunately, it's very stable. but in it's beta form, it's also very slow. i've already fired off some suggestions to the powers that be and i hope someone is listening because there's a lot that needs to be fixed.

has it been worth the 3 years (for OSX/Rhapsody) and 5+ years (Copland/"Modern OS"), in some ways yes but i will really miss the old ways of doing things.
