old school / why you should download the above font

So, you all went to the EFF links, right? Along the way, you might have noticed a very cool font called /p22 typewriter/ which is basically a monospaced font that looks like those old school typewriters. It's pretty cool and to go along with the retro-font, I decided my blog deserved a low-tech fast loading design change.

www.eff.org / why you should care about copyright

1. Creativity and innovation always builds on the past.
2. The past always tries to control the creativity that builds upon it.
3. Free societies enable the future by limiting this power of the past.
4. Ours is less and less a free society.

This is taken from Lawrence Lessig's /Free Culture/ speech at the OpenSource Convention. Read it and I think you'll agree that it's time to act to stop the entertainment industry from taking control of our shared culture.

the cure / cut here

(the cure marathon continues...)

i should have stopped to think, i should have made the time... i could have had that drink, i could have talked a while... i would have done it right, i would have moved us on... i didn't and now it's all too late... it's over and you're gone...

i bought the cure's /greatest hits/ album. the 2nd disc, /acoustic hits/, holds some very nice music and is worth the purchase on it's own. i hadn't heart the new tracks /cut here/ and /just say yes/ until now. i really love "cut here" - it's a good song and the acoustic version is amazing. here's some interesting cure trivia.

the interesting realization i came to the other day - i've been listening to this band for more than half of my life. wow.

(on a side note, the NedStat counter has been dead for a while... i fixed it.)
